🩺 Why this matters
The General Information block is a simple but powerful way to share updates, notes, or reminders that are visible to everyone on the Action Plan—healthcare providers, clients/patients, and their support teams.
It was built in response to user feedback asking for a top-of-mind space to post important updates—securely and clearly—without needing to send multiple messages or make repeated calls.
Use it to:
Inform families about new clinic times, appointments, or important events
Share quick reminders or general updates
Avoid duplicated communication and ensure alignment
🔍 Where to find it
Open the Person’s Action Plan
Scroll to the General Information block
Located on the dashboard for easy visibility
🚀 What you can do in this section
🗣️ Post general updates
Click the + Add button
Type your message
Click Save
👉 Your note will be date- and author-stamped
✏️ Edit or delete your own notes
Click the Edit icon to revise
Use the Trash can icon to remove old or incorrect notes
📚 View history
The block displays the three most recent messages
Click “View History” to see the full archive of posts
📩 What happens after posting
Clients, patients, and primary supporters receive an email notification
They’re prompted to log in and view the update directly
This ensures nothing important is missed and reduces the need for multiple follow-ups
💡 Tips and things to know
Clients and families can view General Information notes—but cannot post their own
This block is visible across all teams involved in the Action Plan—so if multiple organizations are collaborating, everyone sees the same updates
Ideal for saving time: no need to phone multiple contacts to provide a status update
Keeps care more transparent, especially across home, community, and hospital teams
Avoid using this block for confidential or internal updates—use the Status Updates block for that instead
